Having crashed outside a rural Colorado town, an extraterrestrial sent to wipe out mankind took the form and identity of vacationing pathologist Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk), his unfortunate first contact. As he took the locals up on their request to sub for their abruptly deceased town doctor, and got to know humans, “Vanderspeigle” found himself questioning his mission.
